Cats befriending other cats
Should you get your cat a friend?
You may not have as much times to spend with your cat, or you may think your cat looks lonely and you wish he / she could have a friend to play with, here's some cat behavior when it comes to being friends with other cats I have observed that may help you chose right.
Unless they are brother and sister, or were introduced at a very early age, you will rarely see them cuddling and sleeping together.
If you have a male cat consider getting another male of a few months of age. The older one will play a parenting role and the younger one will grow to respect him, follow him everywhere and learning from him along the way. They are more likely to eat and sleep together. If you get female one he will most likely just spend most of his time and energy getting close to her without making much progress.
Same principle seems to apply if you have a female cat. She may be more friendly to a younger female than one of the same age. To male cats she will most likely hiss and ward off any male of any age.
